Learn How to Create a Container Garden
Container Gardens Are Great for Small Spaces
Don't let a small space keep you or your creativity contained. You can turn small spaces like patios, balconies, and porches into beautiful retreats with container gardens. It's easy to do when you follow some simple steps.
What You'll Need:
- Nature's Care® Organic & Natural Potting Mix with Water Conserve®
- Herbs or vegetables from Bonnie Plants®, flowers, or other plants
- Hose or watering can
Choose the Plants and Containers for Your Space
Pick containers that can handle the size of the plants you're considering. You can contrast large containers and plants with small ones for a stunning effect. It will make your friends ohh and ahh with delight - or is that envy? Just make sure that the containers you choose have drainage holes. Annual plants and bulbs are popular choices for containers and look great! Get ideas online, explore Pinterest, check plant tags or ask your local garden center for ideas.
Grab your pot and let's fill it up. Fill your containers with high-quality potting soil, such as Nature's Care® Organic & Natural Potting Mix with Water Conserve®. Make sure you only fill to about three inches from the top. Dig out space for one plant at a time or else things may get a little messy.
Your plants will be thirsty so once they are in, gently water until you see water coming out of the drainage hole.
Arrange Your Containers
Now it's time to move your containers and create your own unique style. Mix large containers with small ones, in groupings. Try hanging containers, pot stands, and railing boxes for added interest.
